Job Title: Communications Manager
Reports to: President & CEO

Summary:

Provide proactive and strategic direction in the development and management communications initiatives required by Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou Tourism in order to reach its goals and fulfill the mission as the destination marketing organization for Lafourche Parish.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as main point of contact for all media inquiries
- Collaborate with president and other staff to develop marketing and communication goals, strategies and execution of projects which support the objective of furthering tourism in the parish
- Create and execute research-driven strategies for communications, social media content, website content, public relations, community relations, and event planning
- Direct and manage outside partners and agencies on advertising, creative materials, website management and enhancements, photographers and journalists
- Manage all social media platforms and website content
- Conduct regular content audits on lacajunbayou.com to ensure LCBT is telling authentic and engaging stories
- Collaborates with internal and external partners within the community (attractions, restaurants, etc.) and thought leaders to generated destination content
- Researches and determines best practices in content creation across DMO landscape and implements across LCBT platforms
- Create and distribute digital newsletters and any other correspondence to partners and potential visitors
- Cultivate local press relationships, arrange for interviews or press conferences, developing and execute LCBT local public relations plan
- Develop and manage all destination collateral including brochures, visitor guide and promotional items
- Captures, curate, designs, write and produces all content and serves as brand voice for LCBT
- Complete projects following deadlines and budget parameters
- Maintain accurate project records, data on ROI of communications efforts and provide appropriate information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Develop and execute media strategies that include building relationships with journalists, proactive pitching, media missions, and coordinating press trips, media visits, and interviews
- Manage all content related to Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou Tourism on industry related websites, brochures, and other collateral
- Work with the Louisiana Office of Tourism (LOT) on cooperative marketing initiatives and maintain detailed records for submission
- Plan and execute any events hosted by Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou Tourism
- Cultivate and manage relationships with traditional and non-traditional tourism partners within the parish including scheduling one-on-one visits and group meetings
- Maintain a knowledge of attractions, restaurants, hotels, and services available in the parish and be able to interact with visitors
- Represent Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou at various community and industry events
- Perform any other duties assigned by the President and CEO

Required Skills:

- Possess an engaging writing style, creativity, and excellent attention to detail.
- Efficient at planning and organizing
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Must be a self-starter; be self-motivated, and able to multi-task
- Must be flexible and able to adjust to changing conditions and circumstances.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and cooperate with staff
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Creative Suite

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations or hospitality or equivalent experience
- Experience in related field; 3-5 years preferred
- Tourism experience preferred

Physical Demands

The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Employee must be able to lift 40 lbs.This position requires travel time including overnights.

Job Title: Office Manager/Administrative Assistant
Reports to: President & CEO

Summary:

Oversee and manage the administrative function of Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou Tourism office. Provide support to the President & CEO, staff and Board of Directors, as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Function as staff liaison between management, LCBT Board of Directors and staff to facilitate smooth daily company operations.
- Provide quality staff support and contributes to the needs of the organization.
- Provide daily administrative assistance to President & CEO.
- Maintain the office supply inventory and order additional supplies, as needed.
- Monitor office procedures and resolve problems through collaboration with pertinent contacts, and implement changes, as needed.
- Process all check requests and invoices for payment.
- Schedule appointments and office meetings as needed.
- Maintain petty cash funds, contracts and service agreement.
- Ensure the efficient operation of all office equipment, arrange for routine and necessary maintenance, as needed.
- Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for staff, as needed.
- Coordinate visitor center operations.
- Compile and distribute, reports, minutes and material to Board of Directors, Executive Committee, as requested by President & CEO.
- Perform other duties as assigned by President & CEO.

Qualifications: 

- A passion for local knowledge of attractions, services and events in Lafourche Parish in order to promote and represent the destination enthusiastically and professionally.
- Self-motivated, professional demeanor, team player, ability to handle discreet and confidential matters. 
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidently and sincerely interact with visitors.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
- Computer savvy and knowledge of all MS Office programs and QuickBooks.
- College degree or (2) years of administrative support experience. A combination of experience and education that meets the minimum may be substituted.
