The Last Acadian Coast: Symposium on Acadian History and Culture in Lafourche & Terrebonne

Grand Revéil Acadien 2022 (GRA 2022) is a celebration and promotion of the Acadian people and their cultural ties to our region. On Wednesday, October 5th, GRA 2022 makes a stop in Lafourche Parish with seminars and events throughout the day highlighting the importance of advancing the unique lifestyle of the Acadians & Cajuns.

Acadian Chef Demo

Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University
Louisiana's Cajun Bayou is excited to welcome down Chef Paul Thimot & Chef Shane Robicheau to cook and prepare an Acadian dish. They will highlight the Acadian culture, the food, and the ingredients used in Nova Scotia past and present.

Cajun Music Demonstration and Lecture

Featuring: Chad Huval (accordion) and Brazos Huval (fiddle), who will both demonstrate the techniques and history of Cajun Music in addition to talking about the current efforts to preserve this music on Bayou Lafourche.

Enjoy music and dancing in a family-friendly restaurant, featuring local musicians both scheduled and spontaneous.
