Bayou Country Children's Museum
An interactive experience for children to learn about the agriculture, food, and music that makes the area so unique. Drive a sugarcane harvester, ride a Mardi Gras float, and fish from a Gulf oil rig through these fun exhibits.

This is a excellent little museum! Lots of hands on activities for young children. It's theme is "Southern Louisiana" so there's activities involving sugarcane farms, alligators, a little Rouses supermarket with play food and things, a theater and a few other cute activities. The building is small and unassuming, so much so, that I thought I was arriving a slightly larger personal residence. The admission fee was $7 per person for non members, which is in line with other larger museums. If you're in the area visiting with small children you should definitely plan a trip here. The kids will have fun. My kids are 12, 6, & 3.
